Buddha Temple complex atmosphere provides a mental peace equal to Buddhist monk. Buddha temple complex was created as one of the four schools of Tibetan religion. This temple complex is known as 'Nyigma' while other schools known as Sakya, Kagyu and Geluk respectively. Tapkeshwar Temple in Dehradun, also known as Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple, is one of the most famous temples dedicated to Shiva. Situated by the forest side, the main shivalinga at the temple is inside a natural cave. Water drops from the ceiling of the cave trickle down over the shivalinga in a continuous downpour, making for an interesting spectacle. The Tapkeshwar Mahadeva Temple owes its importance due to a natural Shiva Linga in a cave nearby. Long back the river flowed through the caves and continuous water droplets fell on the Shiv Linga. It is also believed that this was used as a residence by Guru Dronacharya, the esteemed teacher of the Pandavas and Kauravas of the Hindu epic Mahabharata written by Ved Vyas. The cave is thus named Drona Cave after his name.

The temple is situated on the Garhi Cantt Road and is 30.7 km from Jolly Grant Airport Dehradun, 9.7 km from ISBT Dehradun and 7.5 km from Railway Station Deharadun. You can get a taxi at the airport, a city bus or a three-wheeler near the ISBT or Railway Station which will take you straight to the temple.

It is popularly known as Prakasheshwar Mahadev Mandir among locals as well as devotees. Shiv Mandir is one of the famous religious places of Dehradun. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Here you can see many pictures and idols of god and goddess. Everyday temple is decorated with flowers. Special poojas are held on the occasion of Shivratri & Sawaan. Bhandaara is organized daily for pilgrims where Prasad is distributed to them.

Chandrabani is a famous temple located in the capital city of Dehradun which is dedicated to Goddess Chandrabani. According to popular beliefs, it is believed that sage Gautama along with his wife and daughter Anjani used to live at this holy place. Sage Gautama and his family were worshipped by the locals. Some folklore suggests that the mighty river Ganga manifested herself at this holy place at Gautama Kund nearby. Therefore, pilgrims and devotees travel from far and wide to take a dip in the holy kund.

Chandrabani Temple is located about 7 kilometres away from the Clock Tower Dehradun. It is situated few kilometres away from Clement Town. One can easily reach the temple via shared autos and local buses. Buses from all major northern cities ply to Dehradun including Delhi, Chandigarh and Bareilly. The Sai Darbar Temple is one of the pious and popular religious places in Dehradun. It is constructed out of white marble and the idol of Sai Baba is placed in the middle of the temple. Lots of paintings of god and goddess are also placed in temple. There is a large hall inside the temple where prayer sessions and aarti held every evening. On Thursday many people use to come at this place for prayers because Thursday is the day of Sai Baba.

Sai Mandir is located at 9km from Dehradun city at Rajpur road and one of the famous tourist attractions in Dehradun City. Devotees can reach easily at Sai Mandir through city bus or auto. The Church of St. Francis of Assisi was built in 1661 by the Portuguese in the Portuguese Viceroyalty of India.[1] The Church of St. Francis of Assisi, together with a convent, was established by eight Portuguese Franciscan friars who landed in Goa in 1517. The three tier facade have octagonal towers on each side and in the central niche there is a statue of St. Michael.Above the tabernacle in the main altar is a large statue of St. Francis of Assisi and Jesus on the cross, statues of St. Peter and St. Paul are seen below. The adjoining walls of nave retain painted panels depicting scenes from the life of St Francis of Assisi.

At the heart of Dehradun city, Guru Ram Rai Gurudwara is the most famous religious centre in Dehradun. Established in 17th century, Guru Ram Rai Gurudwara is the oldest and holiest pilgrimage for Sikh community in Dehradun. Established by 'Ram Rai', the eldest son of the seventh Guru of Sikhs, Sri Har Raj Ji, Guru Ram Rai Gurudwara attracts large numbers of pilgrims and Sikh devotees all round the year. Guru Ram Rai built this famous Gurudwara in 17th century with the help and support of then ruler of Dehradun. There is a legend behind the construction of Guru Ram Rai Gurudwara.

Guru Ram Rai Gurudwara is located in Dehradun ( near Dehradun Railway Station). Guru Ram Rai Gurudwara is located at the center of Dehradun city near Shahranpur Chowk and Paltan Bazaar Road. One can reach easily at Guru Ram Rai Gurudwara by autorickshaw (vikram), bus or by foot from any part of the Dehradun city. Dehradun railway station is at less than 1 kms from Gurudwara and airport is at Jolly Grant Airport (25 kms).
